o3IPTV

Features on macOS

Every feature is included. Try everything free for 14 days, then subscribe.

Account and devices

1 Sign in with an email code

Sign in with just your email. There is no password. o3IPTV emails you a one-time code, and your first sign-in creates the account.

First launch opens “Welcome to o3IPTV”. Enter your email, select “Continue with email”, type the code from the email, then select “Verify code”. “Change email” goes back a step.

You can also open the link in the same email to sign in without typing the code.

2 Approve a sign-in from another device

Sign a new device in by approving it from a device that is already signed in. It saves typing your email on a TV, a headset or a computer.

On the new computer choose “Approve from another device”. It displays a QR code and an 8-character code (“Or enter this code”). On a signed-in device open Settings > Account > “Devices” > “Approve a New Device”, type the code and select “Approve sign-in”.

A Mac can also scan the QR code.

3 Devices and the device limit

See every device signed in to your account and sign any of them out. One account can be signed in on up to 5 devices at once.

Open Settings > Account > “Devices”. “This device” marks the one you are using. Each row has “Sign out”, and “Sign Out from All Other Devices” clears the rest. On a 6th device the sign-in says “Choose one to sign out, and this device takes its place.” A notice explains if a device was removed.

4 14-day free trial

Every feature is included from day one. New accounts get 14 days free, no card needed, then you subscribe to keep going.

Nothing to set up. Settings > Account displays “Free trial · N days left”. When the trial ends the app says “Your free trial has ended.” You can subscribe from the same Account card.

5 Subscription and plans

One subscription covers every device on your account and every feature in the app. It never includes media.

Open Settings > Account and select “Subscribe” (or “Manage subscription”). Choose a plan (monthly, 6 months or yearly), then “Subscribe”. “Restore Access”, “Refresh Status” and “Manage Billing” are on the same screen. Store builds bill through the Microsoft Store or App Store. Direct downloads open a checkout in your browser.

6 Account settings

One place for your subscription, profile, devices, sync and sign-out. Delete account removes your cloud data.

Settings opens with the Account card. It lists your subscription status, active profile, download folder and last sync time. Buttons include “Subscribe” or “Manage subscription”, “Devices” and “Manage on web”. The overflow menu has “Refresh status”, “Sign out” and “Delete account”. “Sync now” is at the bottom.

Playlists and sources

7 Add a source with your Xtream login

Enter your Xtream Codes login and o3IPTV imports your live channels, movies, series and TV guide. o3IPTV is a player and ships no content.

Open Settings > Media Sources and select “Add Source”. Fill in “Source Name”, “Server URL”, “Username” and “Password”. Keep “Use Provider's EPG (recommended)” or enter a “Custom EPG URL”, then select “Import”. Progress bars follow live, movies, series and guide.

8 Several sources, one active

Keep more than one login and choose which one you are watching.

Use the source selector in the sidebar (“Manage Sources”, or “No Source Selected” when empty), or Settings > Media Sources > “Active Source”. Search, Continue Watching and favorites work across your sources.

9 Source status and actions

Check what a source holds and when it expires. Refresh it, swap its login or delete it from the same card.

Open Settings > Media Sources and the source card. It lists channel, movie and series counts, “Expires”, “Max connections” and “Connections: X of Y in use”. “Refresh” re-imports, “Renew” swaps in a new username and password and keeps favorites and Continue Watching, and “Delete” removes the source. Each asks to confirm.

10 Guide source for each playlist

Use your provider's TV guide or point a source at your own XMLTV address.

Open Settings > Media Sources and select “EPG” on the source card. “TV Guide (EPG) Settings” lets you use the provider's guide or enter a custom EPG URL.

11 Exclude categories

Exclude whole Live TV, Movie or Series categories from a source. Excluded categories and their content leave the app, and including them again restores them.

Select “Manage Exclusions” on a source card in Settings, or from the category picker on Live TV, Movies or Series. Switch categories between included and excluded, or use “Exclude All” and “Keep All”, then “Apply and Refresh”. Only the main profile can change exclusions, and they sync to your other devices.

12 New categories from your provider

Get told when your provider adds categories, and choose to exclude new ones automatically until you include them.

Home displays “Your provider added N categories” with Review and Dismiss, and category pickers mark new ones with a “New” pill. In the exclusions dialog turn on “Exclude new categories automatically” so new categories stay out until you include them.

13 Expired source warnings

The app tells you when a provider account has expired, so a failing channel does not look like a bug.

A “Playlist Expired” dialog offers “Manage Playlist” or “Play Anyway”. A chip marks the source, and Home displays a banner, “<name> has expired”, that you can dismiss.

14 Sources that need attention

If a source restored from your account fails to load, o3IPTV lists it with the reason so you can retry or remove it.

Open Settings > Media Sources. “Sources that need attention” sits at the top, with a reason such as “Sign-in was rejected” or “Server couldn't be reached”, and Retry or Remove.

15 Automatic library and guide updates

o3IPTV keeps your channels, movies, series and TV guide fresh without you opening Refresh.

Go to Settings > Media Sources and switch on “Update playlists in the background”. It is off until you do. “Notify me when they update” sends a “Playlists updated” notice. “Refresh” on a source still works any time.

Runs through launchd once switched on.

Home

17 Continue Watching

Resume movies, episodes, live channels and catch-up where you left off. Positions follow your profile to every device.

It is the first row on Home. Cards offer “Continue” or “Restart” and say where you left off. To remove one, choose it and answer “Remove from Continue Watching?”, which removes it on all your synced devices.

18 Top 10 Movies and Top 10 TV Shows

Ranked rails of what is trending on TMDB, limited to titles you can actually play from your source.

Scroll Home to “Top 10 Movies” and “Top 10 TV Shows”. Only titles that exist in your active source appear. Select one for its details page.

19 Recommendations and curated rows

Rows picked for you, such as “Because You Watched”, a rotating Smart Discover shelf and hand-picked lists like “Complete Sagas”.

Scroll down Home. “Because You Watched” follows your history. Smart Discover offers themed shelves such as “Short Movies for Tonight”, “Korean Thrillers” or “Family Movie Night”. “Complete Sagas” has one card per saga.

20 Recently added and Top TV Channels

See what is new in your source, and jump to major networks from brand cards.

Home has “New Episodes”, “Recently Added Movies” and “Recently Added Channels”, plus Top TV Channels. If a network has several versions, “Choose a Channel” lists them.

21 Browse by Genre

Twelve genre cards open a screen of movies or series in that genre, matched to your own library.

Scroll to the genre cards near the bottom of Home. A genre opens “Browse by Genre” with Movies and Series tabs and the rows “New releases”, “Popular now” and “Top rated”. Use “Search this genre” to narrow it.

Live TV

22 Browse live channels

Find channels as a logo grid or a list, with sorting and categories. Numbers sort naturally, so ESPN 2 comes before ESPN 11.

Open Live TV. Switch between “Grid” and “List”, use the “Sort by” menu (default order or Name A-Z) and pick a category, or “All categories”.

23 Pinned, recent and favorite categories

Favorite and recently used categories sit at the top of the list, and categories your provider just added are marked New.

In the category picker recently used categories are pinned, and “Remove from recent” takes one off. Categories your provider added carry a “New” pill.

24 On Now programme titles

Every channel tile or row names the programme that is on now, taken from the TV guide.

Look under the channel name for “On Now: <title>” in the grid and the list.

25 Channel previews

Preview a live channel inside the list without leaving it.

Select “Preview” on a channel, and select it again (“Stop”) to end it. Mute with the speaker button, or choose “Watch Full Screen”. Previews also work in Search and the Guide. The window must be at least 600 px tall.

26 Channel logos

Logos load from your provider first, then from the o3IPTV logo service, then a clean placeholder. You can set the color behind them.

Open Settings > Customization > “TV logo background”. There are 12 colors and “Reset to default”.

TV Guide, Catch Up and reminders

27 TV Guide timeline

A grid of channels against time with the current programme highlighted. Page earlier or later, filter by category and search.

Choose Guide in the sidebar, pick a category and move through time. “Download TV Guide” loads one if none is present, and the refresh button updates it. Search “channels or programs”. Selecting a programme previews it.

28 Programme details and actions

Open a programme to read about it, watch it, favorite the channel, add it to a list, set a reminder or record it where recording exists.

Select a programme to open its details. Buttons include “Watch Now”, “Start Over” on sources with catch-up, Favorite, “Add to list”, “Remind me”, “Record” and “Record series”.

29 Start Over

Restart the programme that is airing from its beginning, when your provider keeps an archive for the channel.

Select a live programme in the Guide and choose “Start Over”, or use “Start Over” in the player. “Go Live” returns you to the live edge. Your source must support catch-up.

30 Catch Up

Watch past programmes from channels whose provider keeps an archive.

Choose Catch Up in the sidebar, pick a channel (the list notes “Archive: N days”) and then a programme. In the player drag the catch-up bar or select “Go Live”.

31 Programme reminders

Get a reminder before a programme starts. Reminders sync across your devices and profile.

In the Guide select a programme and choose “Remind me”. It becomes “Reminder set”, and selecting it again undoes it. The reminder fires 5 minutes before the start. The bell button opens “Reminders” to review or remove them. “Tune in” opens the channel.

A Mac also sends a system notification.

Movies and Series

32 Browse movies and series

Browse as a grid or a list, with sorting, category filters and search inside the screen.

Open Movies or Series in the sidebar. Switch between grid and list. “Sort by” offers Recently added, Oldest added, Newest release, Oldest release, Name A-Z and Default order. Pick a category, search within the screen or refresh.

33 Movie details

Read about a film before you play it: synopsis, ratings, cast, trailers and similar titles, with artwork and details from TMDB.

Select a movie. The page has Play or Resume, “Start Over”, a Favorite heart, “Add to list” and “Download Movie”, plus cast, “More Like This” and “Recommendations”. Select a cast member for their filmography, with “In your library” badges. Details follow the interface language.

34 Series details

Pick a season, scan episodes with stills and progress, and resume the next episode in one step.

Select a series, choose a Season and select an episode. Cards display a still, plot, air date, runtime and your resume point. “Download Full Season” and “Download Remaining Season Episodes” save episodes for offline play.

35 Trailers

Watch a trailer from a title's page.

Select a trailer on a movie or series page. It plays in the app where the platform allows. Otherwise the page offers “Open in YouTube” or “Copy link”.

36 Sagas and collections

See how much of a film series you own, and jump to the next film.

A movie page has a collection rail with “N of M movies in your library”, “Current movie” and “Next in collection”. On Home, “Complete Sagas” has one card per saga.

37 Versions and languages

When your source has several copies of one title, such as other languages or qualities, pick the one you want and see its file size.

A title page displays “N versions available” and a picker with file sizes. In the player, “Change Version” swaps to another copy of the same title.

38 Up Next

Near the end of an episode a card offers the next one with a countdown, so a binge needs no clicks.

About 60 to 120 seconds before the end, an “Up Next” card appears with “Play Next”, “Not Now” and a 10-second countdown. When it ends the next episode starts. There is no setting to switch auto-advance off, but “Not Now” skips it for that episode.

39 Resume or start over

Open a title you started and choose to carry on or begin again.

Opening a started movie or episode offers “Continue” or “Restart”, for example “You left off at 12:03 (40% complete)”. Series pages say “Resume Watching”.

Fill the screen with the video, or go further and drop the app's own chrome.

Select “Enter fullscreen” or press F. “Enter focus mode” removes the rest of the app window around the video.

52 Pause and rewind live TV

Pause a live channel or step back a little, and on TV see how far behind live you are.

Pause with the play/pause control, and use the 15-second back and forward controls to step within the live buffer. How far you can go back depends on your provider and the buffer size in Settings > Playback.

53 Episode and season picker in the player

Jump to another episode or season without leaving the player.

Open the Episodes picker in the player to choose another episode or season. It sits as a rail under the video in a tall window.

54 Aspect ratio presets

Change how the picture fills the screen: Fit, Fill, Stretch, 16:9, 4:3, 21:9 or 1:1. It resets to Fit the next time.

65 Frame capture

Save a still image of the current picture.

Select the camera button (“Take screenshot”) in the player. The PNG opens in your image viewer and is kept under Downloads > Screenshots.

66 Self-healing playback

When a stream stalls, the player enlarges its buffer, retries and tries another format. Plain messages say what went wrong.

Nothing to set up. You may see “Adaptive buffering enabled” or “Stability buffering enabled”. “Source busy or unavailable” means all provider connections are in use. “Title Unavailable at Source” offers “Try Another Version”.

Recordings and downloads

67 Download movies and episodes

Save movies, episodes or a whole season to the device. The queue shows progress and checks free space first.

Select “Download Movie” on a movie page, the download button on an episode, or “Download Full Season” on a series page. You can also download from the player while it keeps playing. “Active Downloads” displays progress and time left. On a one-connection source the app asks you to stop playback first.

68 Downloads screen and offline playback

Open Downloads to play saved titles without a connection, search them and delete them.

Choose Downloads in the sidebar. Sections: Movies, Series (by show), Recordings, Screenshots, “Scheduled” and “Failed Downloads” with Retry. Search, select to play, or use “Delete All”. Playing offline needs an occasional online check.

71 Record live TV now

Record the live channel you are watching to a file.

In the player, select “Record” on a live channel. It is not offered on catch-up. “Stop Recording” saves the file (“Recording saved: <title>”). Recordings only run while o3IPTV is open.

72 Schedule recordings from the Guide

Record an upcoming programme from the Guide, with extra minutes before and after the start.

In the Guide open a programme and choose “Record”. “Cancel recording” and “Stop recording” are in the same place. Settings > Recording sets the padding (Start early, End late). If you are watching on a one-stream account, a countdown says “Recording starting”. Recordings only run while o3IPTV is open.

73 Record a whole series

Record every airing of a title on a channel with one rule, and decide how many episodes to keep.

Open Settings > “Manage Profiles”. You can add a profile, rename, “Change avatar”, delete (one must remain), “Refresh Profiles” and use the Kids switch.

77 Kids profiles

A Kids profile keeps adult titles out of browsing and search for that profile.

Turn on the Kids switch for a profile in Manage Profiles. A profile that is not Kids carries an “Adult” chip.

78 Profile PIN

Protect a profile with a 4-digit PIN that is asked whenever someone switches into it, on every device.

In Manage Profiles choose a profile > “Profile PIN” to “Set PIN”, “Change PIN” or “Remove PIN”. Switching into it asks “Enter PIN for <name>”. “Forgot PIN?” emails a 6-digit code.

Favorites and lists

Keep your favorite channels, movies, series and teams in one place, per profile. Favorites also appear in a row on Home.

Choose Favorites in the sidebar. Sections: Favorite Channels, Movies, Series and Teams. Add with the heart on any channel, title, programme or in the player.

80 Favorite hearts

One tap on a heart favorites a channel, title or team. The app then offers to add it to a list too.

Select the heart on a channel tile, a title page, a programme or in the player. A prompt asks “Add it to a list too?”. Select the heart again to remove it.

81 Favorite lists

Group favorites into your own lists, such as Sports, Kids or Documentaries. Lists sync across your devices.

In Favorites choose “New list”. Presets: Sports, 4K, News, Kids, Comedy, Documentaries and Music. Then use “Add items”, “Rename”, “Reorder” or “Delete list”. “Add to list…” is on hearts, title pages and the Guide. Up to 50 lists of 500 items each.

Sync across devices

82 Cloud sync

Favorites, lists, positions, reminders, exclusions, sources and more follow your account to every device automatically.

Nothing to switch on. Each profile syncs favorites, lists, favorite teams and leagues, Continue Watching, reminders and category exclusions. Your sources (credentials encrypted), VPN settings and OpenSubtitles login sync too. Downloads, recordings and your subtitle and audio sync values do not. Settings > Account has “Sync now”.

83 Restore on a new device

Sign in on a fresh device and your sources and preferences come back by themselves.

After you sign in a progress screen, “Restoring your sources”, shows each source in turn. Large sources can take a few minutes.

Stream-only VPN

84 Stream-only VPN

Send only the video of one source through your own WireGuard VPN. If the VPN drops, playback stops rather than going direct.

Open Settings > Media Sources > the source card > “VPN”. Choose a “Connection method” and “Turn on VPN”. Paste a WireGuard .conf, or sign in to Proton VPN, Windscribe or Mullvad. “Renew connection” refreshes a sign-in. The setup syncs to your other devices.

Settings and languages

85 Interface language

The app speaks 11 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, French, German, Dutch, Turkish, Italian, Polish and Swedish.

Open Settings > Customization > “Language” > “Choose language”. Pick a language or “System default”. Unsupported device languages fall back to English.

86 Preferred audio and subtitle language

Set the languages you want and the app picks matching tracks for you.

Open Settings > Playback. “Audio Language” auto-picks that track when a title offers it. “Subtitle Language” turns on matching subtitles automatically.

87 Live buffer

Choose between faster channel changes and fewer stalls.

Open Settings > Playback > “Live buffer” and pick Low, Balanced or High. Larger buffers reduce stalls and smaller ones start and zap faster.

88 App updates

Direct downloads tell you when a new version is out. Store builds update through their store.

Direct downloads check on launch and display “New Version Available”. “Download and Quit” opens the download page. Microsoft Store builds show an “Update available” banner with “Restart to update”. Snap and Mac App Store builds update through their store.

89 About, support and legal

Find the version, support contact, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and the reminder that o3IPTV ships no content.

Open Settings > About. It lists the version, Support ([email protected]), Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and the TMDB attribution.
